Industries and IT Minister, KT Rama Rao, has requested the central government to reopen the Cement Corp of India (CCI)’s plant in Adilabad. CCI to meet cement demand for new hydropower project

India’s National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Cement Corporation of India (CCI) to meet the cement requirements for its 2880MW Dibang Multipurpose Project. The project, once installed, would be the country's largest dam. CCI has announced plans to install a clinker grinding unit near the project area, which would fulfil the cement requirements of the project and also generate employment opportunities.

The state government of Hyderabad on Monday appointed a consultancy firm to prepare a draft DPR (Detailed Project Report) in an effort to revive the Cement Corporation of India's (CCI) factory in Adilabad district. The government of India has prepared a revival scheme for the Cement Corporation of India (CCI). Approved by the government and ordered by the Board for Industrial and Financial Reconstruction (BIFR), the scheme envisages the expansion/modernisation of three operating units as well as the closure and sale of seven non-operating units. India invites expressions of interest for CCI units

The government of India has announced plans to sell four non-operating units of state-owned Cement Corporation of India. “Cement Corporation of India has started the sale process as it has invited expressions of interest for the outright sale of four non-operational units. The sale would be done through an e-auction process,” an official said. The government owns 100 per cent of the public sector unit. In total, CCI comprises 10 facilities, of which seven are not operational.

India: protesters ask for cement factory restart

Members of the Cement Corporation of India (CCI) staged a protest outside the residence of Union Labour Minister M Mallikarjun Kharge here on Wednesday demanding that steps be taken to restart the CCI factory at Kurkunta village in Sedam Taluk. Protesters said the factory was closed down in 1998. Of the 430 workers, only 87 got their gratuity. The managing director of CCI had promised in 2010 that the unit would be restarted in a few months, but it did not happen, they added.

Cement Corporation plans to set up Assam grinding unit, India

Cement Corporation of India is planning to set up an 82,500tpa cement grinding unit in Assam. "Cement Corporation of India (CCI) proposes to establish a cement grinding unit in Baikunthapur in district of Cachar, Assam," Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Praful Patel said. The unit is proposed to grind fly ash along with clinker to be transported from CCI's Bokajan Cement unit in Assam for producing Portland Pozzolana cement, Patel added.
